Information Technology Services is part of the Business Services Division and the Director reports directly to the Assistant Superintendent (CBO). Offices are located in the Administration Building at 3350 Education Drive across from Cuesta Community College.
Technology Services provides the following computer services to both school districts and our own internal departments:
- High-speed filtered and firewalled Internet access to all county school districts
- SLOCOE LAN of over 450 networked computers, printers and copiers
- Computer and Network support services to over 40 sites throughout the county
- SLOCOE Internet web site and related program sites
- ATM OC-3 Microwave connection between SLOCOE and Kern SOS in Bakersfield
- Data Center with filtered and redundant power
- Campus-wide PBX (phones)
- County-wide Data Management System
- On-line Technology Support Request system
Current and projected projects include:
- Upgrading SLOCOE’s servers, increasing access speed, capacity, and daily backup of networked files. (Ongoing)
- Increasing the technical support to our program sites throughout the county. (Ongoing)
Technology Services challenge is to continue to look for faster, better, cheaper technology solutions on behalf of our clients throughout the county.
