PURCHASING DEPARTMENT
The Purchasing Department is part of the Business Services Division
and the Purchasing Agent reports directly to the Assistant
Superintendent (CBO). Offices are located in the SLOCOE Administration
Building, Education Drive @ Hwy 1, San Luis Obispo.
The Purchasing Agent assists both internal and external county staff
by providing information and services in order to purchase equipment
and supplies in a timely, cost-effective manner.
The Purchasing Agent serves as the coordinator of Just In Time
(JIT); an on-line ordering system for standard school supplies through
Office Depot as well as monitoring the Visa Cal-Card Program under
the umbrella of the CA Dept. of General Services.
Purchasing staff works closely with Information Technology staff
to apply for government funding and discounts for technology related
services such as E-Rate and Cal-Net.
