This
is a data driven world. Since 1980 when AVID began, data has
been used to demonstrate the "power" and success of
the AVID program. The AVID program is closely tied to data collection
and its use. Data is constant, reliable and pervasive to teachers,
students, parents and the community at large. View
or download the AVID Fact Sheet PDF |

AVID
site teams are asked to review their data at site team meetings
so they can make decisions about their school, the direction
of the AVID program and how AVID strategies can support school-wide
goals. |

The
analysis of data also addresses the access to courses that prepare
middle level students adequately for rigorous courses that is
essential to the student's ability to graduate and gain acceptance
to a four-year college or university. |

Annual
Certification of AVID Programs
Constant evaluation of the AVID program benefits schools and
districts because it provides staff the opportunity assess their
efforts to fully implement the AVID Essentials. - Download
the Magnificent Eight PDF here - It also
justifies the existence of the program by showing how things
are different or better as a result of the program, thus satisfying
the funding sources. Verification of the program's success provides
motivation for the team, and an accurate assessment of the program's
strengths and weaknesses is necessary before realistic and constructive
goals can be set for the following year. |
