The San Luis Obispo County BTSA Induction Program is a collaborative endeavor between the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education, school districts, and institutions of higher education that provides a meaningful and valuable program to support and credential beginning teachers in order that they become caring, competent, and quality teachers, who promote high student achievement and social well-being.
The Goals of the BTSA Induction Program
1. Provide an effective transition into the teaching career for first and second year teachers in California;
2. Improve the educational performances of students through improved training, information, and assistance for new teachers;
3. Enable beginning teachers to be effective in teaching students who are culturally, linguistically, and academically diverse;
4. Ensure the professional success and retention of new teachers who show promise of becoming highly effective professionals.
