
Direct Service School District
The mission of the Direct Service School Districts Program is to
guarantee that students enrolled in the small and rural districts
are afforded quality educational opportunities and experiences.
The Direct Service School Districts Program was created to assist
small school districts in raising student achievement and closing
the achievement gap. Support is provided by identifying and accessing
resources; assisting teachers and administrators with program services
for student populations identified for special services; and assisting
with the development, coordination, and evaluation of identified
programs and services. Specific areas of emphasis include the following:
- Standards-Based Education
- Content and performance standards
- Curriculum
- Instruction
- Assessment
- Process and practices for developing a quality-based school
system
- Supplemental program services: GATE, EL, Title I, AVID
- Data management
- State and federal compliance items/Public School Accountability
