On January 26, 2007 the school districts in San Luis Obispo County conducted a count of all students identified as homeless in their district since the start of the 2006-07 school year. The following data is from this study.

  Between August 2006 - January 26, 2007 637 students were identified as homeless in SLO County schools. There are homeless students in all grade levels from schools throughout the county.

On October 26, 2005 a Homeless Enumeration Study was done in San Luis Obispo County. The following data is from this study.

2,408 homeless people were counted in San Luis Obispo County on October 26, 2005. A staggering 34% of those counted were younger than 21, totaling 817 homeless children and teens in our county.
