Fingerprinting

The San Luis Obispo County Office of Education (SLOCOE) worked in partnerships with the San Luis Obispo Sheriff's Department and the California Department of Justice to procure one of the Live Scan Electronic Fingerprint systems that was awarded through State funds as a result of the passage of the AB1610 and AB1612 legislation. SLOCOE has been submitting fingerprints electronically since August of 1998, serving not only all of the districts within our county, but colleges, universities, law enforcement agencies, public service organizations, private schools, and organizations in our neighboring counties of Santa Barbara, Kern and Monterey.

APPOINTMENTS may be made by contacting the SLOCOE Main Office at (805) 782-7236.

How does Live-Scan work?

The CrossMatch ID500 Live-Scan Workstation is a fingerprint system that produces forensic-quality tenprint records by electronically scanning and capturing rolled fingerprints.

Because the process requires no ink and uses advanced electronics to ensure accurate image capture, you get consistently better quality tenprints than with traditional inked fingerprint methods
