SB 8 State Beaches Smoking Ban - Signed October 11, 2019

– Prohibits smoking or disposal of used cigars or cigarettes on a state beach, unless an appropriate waste receptacle is used
– Requires the Dept. of Parks and Recreation to post signs
– Infractions are punishable by a fine of up to $25

SB 538 Electronic Cigarettes - Vetoed October 13, 2019

Would have required manufacturers to submit a written physical description and photograph of each type of e-cigarette sold in California to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) for posting on the CDPH website.

SB 39 Tobacco Products Delivery - Signed September 16, 2019

Strengthnes the Stop Tobacco Access to Kids Enforcement (STAKE) Act:
– Requires tobacco products delivered by the US Postal Service or private package delivery service to be labeled “Contains Tobacco Products”
– Requires a person 21 years or older to sign for the package
– Infractions are punishable by fines starting at $1000
