Local ED Technology News:
Connect and network with our local educators who are part of SLO CUE. It is still free to join before March 16, 2018. In April a local meet-up will take place for SLO CUE members and watch for more details of our next tech event for teacher professional development. During the CUE conference in Palm Springs, the SLO CUE affiliate meeting is scheduled for Friday, March 16th at 5 PM in Mesquite G, attend for a chance to win a free DreamSTEAM Kit. Following the meeting will be a meet up with SLO CUE and SB CUE.
Tech After Dark
Tech After Dark will be hosted at Amazon SLO in May. Invitations to selected students and local educators will be given out in April for the 200 spots. Amazon will host an open house and share what it takes to have a future career at Amazon.
Google Apps for Education News:
Google offers a “Be Internet Awesome” website with Digital Safety Resources – tools for the classroom and home. Curriculum, certificates, badges, templates, pledge certificates and teacher training are all available resources free to use.
Google is Calling all Educators!
Google shares stories of student success using of chromebooks and the G Suite Cloud throughout the United States. Del Mar Union School District in San Diego found an improvement in writing, increased student collaboration, and increased parent involvement. We are seeing many success stories of our own in San Luis Obispo County. Please take time to share your story and be a part of the Google for Education blog.
