Emergency 30 Day Substitute Teaching Permit
The Emergency 30 Day Substitute Teaching Permit Authorizes you to substitute no more than 30 days for any one teacher over the course of an entire school year. You may substitute in a variety of classrooms as long as you do not exceed a total of 30 days for any one teacher during the school year (20 day limit for special education classes).
To apply: Print out the Online Recommendation Request Form and return it to our office with the required documents. This process will take approximately 2 weeks and you will have a substitute permit issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
Or, apply for credential online. (Note: Online application can take up to 60 days for processing)
Renewal Information: The Emergency 30 Day Substitute Permit is renewable online. If your document is expired, you may still renew online but there will be a gap between your expiration date and renewal date.
For example, if your permit expired on May 1, 2012 and you are renewing on May 21, 2012 then your renewal date will be May21, 2012.
If you need your renewal date to be May 1, 2012 then you will need to complete a paper application that is submitted through our office so that we can request a different issuance date.
