Tobacco-Use Prevention and Youth Engagement
The California Department of Education provides Tobacco-Use Prevention and Youth Engagement (TPYE) funding to support efforts to help young people make healthful decisions through evidence-informed tobacco-use prevention instruction, youth development, intervention, reinforcement activities for tobacco-free school environments, and cessation programs.
SLO County supports students in grades 6th through 12th across twelve school districts through TPYE-funded activities. The TeachVapeFree.org website provides educators, parents, and community members with information and resources related to youth vaping, tobacco, and cannabis use.
