We can connect you to FREE health services, life-skills workshops, and help you study to graduate high school. Get in touch with us today to hear about the many services available to you!
Parent Involvement
Research shows us that involving families in a child’s education is a key component. As a parent, you are the number one advocate for your child! We want to involve you in the process of setting your student up for success. How can you be involved? First, we often host workshops on how to support your child socially, academically, and emotionally. Follow us on our social media or contact us for upcoming opportunities. Second, you could get involved in one of our Parent Advisory Committees. We look forward to partnering with you!
STEM Workshops
Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Workshops offer local kindergarten through eighth grade students the opportunity to experience hands-on 3-D learning with the latest tech tools. Students will be engaged in the Maker (Design) Process as they define a problem, brainstorm solutions, collaborate with fellow students, test and revise their designs, and have a lot of fun in the process! Connect with us to find out about the next STEM Workshop!
Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI)
Is your student reading below grade level? Leveled Literacy Intervention could help them catch up. This common core-aligned program integrates all literary elements and is designed to accelerate students to reading at grade level. The program includes specific connections to the English Language Development standards with supports for English learners in speaking, reading, writing, and phonics. LLI is taught by a credentialed teacher and takes place after school in grades K-8. Contact us to find out about your local LLI program.
Family Biliteracy
The Family Biliteracy program is a twelve-session course, which brings parents and their preschool-age children together to participate in literacy and academic learning activities in preparation for kindergarten. With the goal that families will continue to work on the skills learned in class, they will receive copies of the bilingual books used in class along with a family project take-home kit for each book as well as a read aloud parent novel about preparing your child for college. Check out the video at left from a session last year.
Health Services
One of our goals is to promote good health with our migrant students! We work with community partners to refer our students and families to medical, dental, vision, healthy eating, and mental health resources. Our community partners include: Dignity Health, Cuesta College, Allan Hancock College, Center for Employment Training, Community Health Centers, Paso Robles Optometric Center, Fighting Back, Family Service Agency, The Link Family Service Center, and private medical offices. We also hold workshops on healthy eating and mental health. Contact us today to find out more!
Social Emotional (SEL) Support
Stress. Anxiety. Depression. Isolation. The pandemic has taken a huge toll on our social and emotional well-being. Fortunately, we’re partnering with several community organizations to support you. According to the Collaborative for Academic Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL), it is important we…
- Take time to cultivate and deepen relationships, build partnerships, and plan for SEL.
- Design opportunities where adults (families and staff) can connect, heal, and build their capacity to support their students.
- Create safe, supportive, and equitable learning environments that promote all students’ social and emotional development.
- Use data as an opportunity to share power, deepen relationships, and continuously improve support for students, families, and staff.
The good news is that students who participate in SEL programs improve eleven percentage points academically over those who don’t, so check with us about the next upcoming SEL training!
