Don’t Miss Out on Being a Part of MTSS Cohort Three

Educational Support Services

The Paso Robles, Atascadero and Shandon School Districts were each awarded grants by the California Scale-Up MTSS Statewide (SUMS) Initiative to receive Technical Assistance (TA) training.  In these TA opportunities, all three districts were able to join together to share ideas and resources while collaborating on developing district specific models to implement Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).

The focus of SUMS is to support LEAs with MTSS. It involves family and community engagement, administrative leadership, integrated education frameworks, and inclusive policy and practice. View a quick primer video on MTSS created by the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE), for an overview of MTSS:

Academic Behavioral Support System Framework

PRJUSD, AUSD and SJUSD teams met four times for guidance and support in developing their MTSS systems leading to improved student outcomes. MTSS is intended to align academic, behavioral, and social-emotional learning into an integrated system of support.  MTSS brings together both RtI² and PBIS and aligns their supports to serve the whole child. RtI² focuses on academics and PBIS focuses on social and emotional learning, MTSS encompasses them all.

Funding is available to participate in SUMS Technical Assistance Cohort 3 to learn how to implement MTSS in your LEA. Please review this video for detailed steps. The County Office of Education is available to help you complete and submit the RFA.  Please contact me for more information and support.
